Meet the Project370 team

Our purpose

An extract from the founding document of Project370:

"...Project370LLC is organized exclusively for educational, and scientific purposes of funding and contracting sea surveys to locate and identify the remains of Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777-200 Registration 9M-MRO which operated flight MH370 on 8 March 2014 and which was lost while operating that flight..."

The entity is a non-profit organisation and all involved, with the exception of legal counsel and the two contractors that will carry out the survey and ROV phases of the project, are unpaid volunteers,

The current management team:

Mike Chillit: Co-Founder (USA)

MikeChillitMike Chillit served in the United States Air Force before entering the world of statistics. He has extensive experience in data analysis with specific reference to its application in law and other specialised areas. Aside from the data aspects of the crash of MH370 Mike has a passion for aviation safety, research and problem solving - all vital attributes needed by Project370. Mike has spent more than two and a half years collating data from numerous sources in regard to flight MH370 and has invested a great deal of time into plotting the most probable locations to search.

Mark D Young: Co-Founder (RSA)

Mark D YoungMark has also served in an air force - seems a great place to catch the flight safety bug. His career, however, has involved board-level magement experience in national corporations as well as permitting him to pursue aviation safety  research, writing and photography. He is a published author of a history of South African Airways Accidents and Incidents. He was moved to use his network of industry contacts to try and resolve the whereabouts of MH370 when it appeared that the official search would be suspended. His knowledge of various technical aspects of aviation accident investigation, management & media experience and "why not?" approach are attributes needed in his role as project co-ordinator.

BIographies of other management members will follow in due course as their appointments are formally confirmed.
